Who would want my Holy Communion Set?

We have gone through some very intense attacks recently but a very recent attack was quite bizarre.

A few nights ago, my Jeep was broken into (my back window smashed). One might say that happens but what’s very strange about this break in was this:

-The only items that were stolen= my small New Testament and my small Holy Communion set. Hmmmm…who would want a Bible and a Holy Communion set?

-What’s even stranger was about a month ago a Nazi demon spoke to me out of a lady (who is from NYC) and told me boldly, “We want to take Bibles from the Christians.” Hmmm…

-What’s even stranger is what was in my New Testament…a piece of paper that contained the numbers of a family I’m ministering to and all of their contact information. When I phoned them (I did have their number in my cell) they shared how intensely Satan had been attacking them. Hmmm…

Never, Never, Never Give Up!

The apostle Paul was no stranger to the enemy’s vicious attacks. He was constantly dealing with the demonic and facing down Satan. In 1 Thessalonians 2 we read of the apostle Paul being confronted with Satan,

“But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored more eagerly to see your face with great desire. Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us.”

Time and again, the apostle Paul desired to travel to Asia but was “hindered” by Satan. It wasn’t a one time face down, it was multiple times he was confronting Satan. You will notice, however, in the New Testament, though Paul was hindered he didn’t cease from preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a key in fighting the devil—persevering. Paul was stubborn for God, as he wasn’t about to let the devil win. He continued on, fighting to the very end. That is why he mentioned, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Though Satan hindered him at times, he persevered and “finished” the race. This is a key believers need to embrace, we need to persevere in fighting the demonic. When face to face with the enemy, persevere, believing the work God has started in you will come to completion as promised in His Word.

“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Satan cannot hold on a believer forever, he may hinder as he did with Paul, at times, but he cannot win. So, with this in mind, believers are called upon to persevere with Jesus. This is what I have done. I have been attacked by the demonic forces and yet hold unto to Jesus, I persevere knowing my Savior will hold me. When staring at the face of the enemy do not run, hold steadfast and persevere knowing the love of God will keep you. Besides, in your spiritual wars with the devil, you have been given weapons to battle the enemy when standing face to face with him.

Never, never, never give up!

One Night in Bangkok

Southeast Asia is a hotbed for demonic supernaturalism and gruesome ceremonies such as Thaipusam (a self mutilation ritual). Much of this region is under a sway of the devil and the spiritual needs of the people is great. Not too long ago my wife and I had the opportunity to travel to this region and to minister with the hopes of bringing some light into this darkened region.

After a brief layover in Japan we flew into Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. One of the largest cities in this region, we quickly found that the city had a traffic problem. Crowded and yet beautiful Bangkok was a city of many wonders. The landscape was littered with majestic Buddhist temples and towering buildings. The city also had its share of Hindu temples and as Hinduism Today noted, “Bangkok is the epicenter of Thailand’s Hindu and Sikh population…” In our drives through the city we noticed quite a few of these Hindu temples peppered throughout. I was distressed at the sight of them. I was reminded of when the apostle Paul was in Athens and how he was also disturbed to see that a city of “full of idols” (Acts 17:16). Idol worship is common throughout the third world and we witnessed firsthand the spiritual dynamic behind idol worship in these demonic temples.

I have seen the effect of idol worship has in places like Western Africa but traveling to Asia and seeing it in Bangkok was different. Allow me to explain. My wife and I entered a few of the Hindu temples and we experienced some devilish things. We were not prepared for the overwhelming clouds of incense smoke as we entered the temple grounds. Devotees were scattered about offering everything from food to money and toys to the various Hindu deities represented. The deities themselves were a sight to see. Some were quite grotesque and creepy looking. Some of the images of their deities represented horror and vile sexuality.

My wife saw a Thai lady quickly cross the street to get some bottled water from a street vendor to only offer it to a Hindu deity. Does she not know that this false deity is incapable of satisfying her deepest spiritual needs? I noticed a group of people bowing before these demon gods in worship. Emptiness was written all over their faces. A quick glance at their facial disposition tells the real story however. One could actually “see” the evils spirits in some of the devotees. It was a truly eerie sight to behold. While we were observing all of these strange things going on in the temple my wife and I begin to sense a strong spiritual oppression encamp around us. It as if the demons behind these Hindu deities knew we were a threat to their work.

Instantaneously, these demonic spirits attacked my wife and me. At about the same time we both experienced a very mild but noticeable discomfort in our bodies and spirits. We could actually “feel” it as if the demons were pressing in on us. I began to pray and speak for the Lordship of Jesus Christ to reign tangibly over the temple. I began to sense the devotees were disturbed by our presence. We continued to stand firm in our battle with the demons in Bangkok.

Amazingly, after leaving the temple we both noticed the minor discomfort that we had experienced in the temple had vanished. We were free from Satan’s attacks. Demons do often attach themselves to idols. In fact, the apostle Paul tells us that the, “…the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons” (see 1 Corinthians 10:20).

Many missionaries all over the globe speak of experiencing an evil supernatural presence when around idols. The reason is because there are evil demons nearby longing for false worship by the unsuspecting. That is why the apostle Paul cautions that those who offer sacrifices are in reality offering sacrifices to demons.

Moses tells is in Deuteronomy 32:16-18

They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols. They sacrificed to demons, which are not God- gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your fathers did not fear. You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth.

In Psalms 106:36-37

They worshiped their idols,
which became a snare to them.
They sacrificed their sons
and their daughters to demons.

Again, we see that those who participated in the false worship of idols are in reality in communion with demons. This is very dangerous as this can open a door for demon invasion.
